A beautiful expression of Japanese tea craftsmanship, this handmade Tokoname-yaki kyusu is individually decorated with intricate, master hand-painted floral patterns. Rich colors, delicate gold-toned details, and a sculptural side handle give each piece the character of a functional work of art.
Inside, the kyusu features a fine built-in clay strainer with densely arranged holes, allowing for a smooth, clean pour while keeping even finer tea leaves inside the pot. This makes it especially well suited for Japanese green teas and other fine-leaf teas.
Because each teapot is handmade and hand-painted, subtle variations in color and pattern make every piece truly one of a kind.
Highlights: Handmade Tokoname-yaki • Master hand-painted floral design • Fine built-in ceramic strainer • Excellent for fine tea leaves • Side-handle kyusu design • Each piece is unique
Capacity: 250ml
Why Tokoname?
Tokoname is one of Japan’s historic pottery traditions and is especially renowned for kyusu teapots. The clay is valued for its excellent heat retention and its natural, unglazed interior, which makes it particularly well suited for brewing Japanese green tea. A fine built-in strainer also allows delicate tea leaves to open freely while providing a smooth, clean pour.
