Jade Pool brings together low-profile, wood-fired gongfu teacups from Jingdezhen, China. The first design, Jade Rift, is a small, wide 40 mL cup with a rustic gray-brown exterior and an unexpected flash of jade-green color inside.

The green area has a glossy, almost glass-like appearance, with visible crackle lines beneath the shine. Around it, smoky grays, soft blue-gray tones, and warm earth-colored marks create a beautiful contrast. This is a ceramic glaze effect, not an inlay of jade or glass.

Jade Rift · 40 mL: A shallow, straight-sided gongfu teacup with a slightly flared rim, textured wood-fired exterior, and a luminous jade-green crackle-glazed band inside. The photos show this actual design. More designs may be added to the Jade Pool collection later.

Leo's Story: My Discovery in Jingdezhen

I found this cup during my 2025 trip to Jingdezhen. What caught my attention was the contrast. From the outside, it looks earthy and quiet, with a smoky, weathered finish. Then you look inside and see this shiny jade-green glaze that almost looks like cracked glass.

I like finding little details like this when I travel for teaware. The cup is small, but the color inside makes it stand out.
