Some teas are defined by processing.
This one is defined by where it grows.

Sourced from the high mountain tea gardens of 九狮寨 (Jiǔ Shī Zhài) in Yueyang, Hunan, this white tea comes from one of the most elevated and pristine growing environments in the region. The name “九狮寨” translates to “Nine Lions Fortress,” inspired by the mountain’s natural ridgelines that resemble lions in motion.

This tea garden sits within the 连云山 (Lián Yún Shān) and 福寿山 (Fú Shòu Shān) mountain range, at elevations ranging from approximately 1000 to 1500 meters.
At this height, the environment changes everything.

What Makes This White Tea Special

  • High Elevation (1000–1500m)
Cooler temperatures and constant mountain mist slow down leaf growth, allowing deeper accumulation of compounds that create thickness, clarity, and structure.
  • Large Day-Night Temperature Swings
The contrast between warm days and cool nights enhances aromatic development and preserves freshness in the leaves.
  • Mountain Mist & Dense Forest Surroundings
The tea grows in a naturally humid, shaded ecosystem, contributing to a softer, more integrated profile.
  • Organic by Environment
This region is known for its clean, low-intervention farming, with many gardens operating under organic standards or close to it.

The Taste & Texture

This is not a light, fleeting white tea.

It has a deep, structured body with a thick, rounded mouthfeel that immediately sets it apart from lower elevation white teas. The texture feels almost silky and coating, carrying a steady, calm presence across the palate.

The profile leans clean and refined, with a gentle natural sweetness and a smooth, lingering finish that stays with you long after each sip.

Brewing Recommendation

  • Use a gaiwan to explore its evolving layers across multiple infusions
  • Or brew in a glass to appreciate the slow unfurling of the leaves

This tea is stable and forgiving, allowing you to focus on the experience rather than precision.

A Different Expression of White Tea

Most people associate white tea with coastal Fujian.

This tea shows a completely different direction—high mountain, inland-grown, and elevation-driven. The result is a white tea with more body, more structure, and a stronger sense of place.
