2022 Big Snowy Mountain Sheng Puerh (Da Xue Shan)

From the towering Da Xue Shan—or “Big Snowy Mountain”—in Mengku, Lincang, this tea comes from one of Yunnan’s most legendary tea regions. The mountain’s peak rises above 3,200 meters, often dusted with snow in winter, giving it its name. Below that summit lies a vast, ancient tea forest—centuries-old wild trees growing between 2,200 and 2,750 meters in elevation. This rare high-mountain environment, blanketed by thick forest cover and cool mist, produces leaves of remarkable depth and purity.

The 2022 Big Snowy Mountain Sheng Puerh opens with a sweet, fruity aroma that hints at what’s to come. The liquor glows golden and bright, coating the tongue with a silky, full-bodied texture. Early sips reveal apricot and nectarine notes balanced by a gentle herbal-floral bitterness that quickly transforms into a lingering honeysuckle and sweet cream finish. Beneath it all, there’s a soft chestnut-like creamy nuttiness that grounds the cup and adds warmth to the sweetness.

As you sip, a pleasant cooling sensation fills the throat, followed by a sweet, lasting aftertaste that keeps unfolding long after you set the cup down. The fragrance is high, fresh, and slightly wild—true to its mountain origin.

Brewing Instructions (Gongfu Style):
Use 5g of tea in a 90ml gaiwan with 203°F (95°C) water.
Give the leaves a quick rinse, then steep for 7–8 seconds on the first infusion and 3 seconds for each that follows. Expect the flavor to deepen through the first six brews and evolve gracefully for 20–22 infusions, softening into delicate, honeyed notes in the later rounds. Be careful to not over

An expressive, high-altitude Sheng with both strength and elegance—this tea captures the soul of Yunnan’s Great Snow Mountain: bold, pure, and endlessly refreshing.
