Cherry Blossom Black Tea – An Award-Winning Organic Discovery
In June 2024, during his tea exploration in Japan, Leo uncovered this remarkable Cherry Blossom Black Tea. Typically a purist, Leo was intrigued by the farm’s claim that no artificial flavoring was used—only 100% natural, organic cherry blossoms blended with their black tea. This tea’s story began in 2016 when the farm began experimenting with blending and earned the prestigious Fine Product Award at the 2017 Japan Tea Awards. Their commitment to pushing the boundaries of Japanese tea is evident in every cup.
Upon returning from his trip, Leo hosted a Japanese tea event where he introduced the teas he’d found, and this Cherry Blossom Black Tea became an instant favorite.
The captivating aroma of cherry blossoms from the dry leaves was enough to impress everyone before they even took their first sip. Once tasted, its delicate floral notes, sweet-sour hint of Japanese plums, and the distinct umami took them on a sensory journey to Japan.
This tea stands out as one of the few blends Leo has chosen to offer, alongside genmaicha, thanks to its authentic and natural ingredients. Unlike other cherry blossom teas that rely on artificial flavoring, this tea celebrates the purity of nature, and the farm takes pride in using only organic cherry blossoms.

I didn't get enough Cherry Blossom taste or aroma. It's a decent enough black tea. But I wanted more. Unless someone told me what to look for specifically, I would not have known this was "Japanese Cherry Blossom."
I still drink it regularly, but due to Not Enough Cherry Blossom, I gave it 3 stars.
