September 2025 Update: This new high mountain Bi Luo Chun has a sweet, creamed corn aroma (slightly less corn-like than the previous batch), complemented by a subtle floral note reminiscent of gardenia. On the palate, it offers the familiar sweet corn flavor with gentle vegetal freshness, alongside a soft mochi-like sweetness, a silky mouthfeel, and a light cooling sensation across the mouth and throat.
One of China’s most famous green teas, Bi Luo Chun is tightly rolled into spirals, resembling a snail’s shell. This spiral not only gives the tea its name—“Bi Luo Chun” translates to “Green Snail Spring”—but also preserves its freshness and aroma. High-quality Bi Luo Chun is uniform and tightly rolled. If the spiral shape rolled is not tight and consistent, then you know it's not a high-quality Bi Luo Chun.
This tea is very tender and covered with white tips, offering delicate flavor and texture.
The leaves used in this batch are carefully selected silver tips, harvested around the end of April (the very beginning of tea harvest season), ensuring that only the finest, tender shoots make it into your cup. This tea can also be brewed at high temperatures without becoming bitter, a rare quality only in premium green teas.
Sourced from high-altitude tea gardens in Guizhou Province, this high mountain Bi Luo Chun benefits from slower growth rates, which allow the leaves to develop richer flavors and deeper complexity. Many of these gardens rely on natural spring water, enhancing both the purity and delicacy of the tea.
This High Mountain Bi Luo Chun is an extraordinary example of seasonal craftsmanship, offering a refined aroma, silky texture, and subtly layered flavor profile that only spring-picked, high-altitude leaves can deliver.
