Introducing our newest matcha addition to the lineup - the organic Asanoka ceremonial Asanoka matcha. Derived from the Asanoka cultivar, a remarkable blend of the Japanese cultivar "Yabukita" and the Chinese cultivar "Hiramizu", this tea embodies a truly unique flavor profile. While most Asanoka cultivars originate from Kagoshima, ours is a rare gem cultivated in Uji, renowned for producing Japan's finest matcha.

The choice to crossbreed Yabukita and Hiramizu cultivars has resulted in an unparalleled tea experience. Yabukita, known for its well-rounded flavor, has long been celebrated as Japan's go-to green tea cultivar, accounting for over 70% of Japanese tea production. Combining it with the Chinese cultivar has imparted the Asanoka tea with a distinct character that sets it apart from others.

We take great care in selecting only the finest tea farm for our Asanoka matcha. The result?

Leo's Personal Take: My go-to daily matcha, this tea has become a staple in my routine. While it's a tad more bitter than other premium matchas I've tried, its clean finish is what sets it apart for me. It offers a subtle blend of sweet grassiness and umami, making it incredibly easy to enjoy. But what really makes me choose this matcha over others is its Japanese organic certification. I've sampled many organic matchas, and most fall short, often tasting metallic and overwhelmingly grassy. This one, however, stands out for its drinkability. For my everyday matcha, this is my pick. But when I'm in the mood to truly savor the essence of top-tier matcha, I turn to my Royal matcha! 🍵✨

Delightful flavor at a very reasonable price

This matcha punches far above its weight in terms of price. Each sip gives a subtle natural sweetness, underscoring the umami mouthfeel of the tea. When properly prepared, this tea strikes a balance between umami, sweetness, and astringency that is difficult to find in other matchas at this price point. This unique cultivar also offers some soft herbal flavors and aromas that compliment the more familiar flavors found in this matcha.

The only thing I have to say that is not unequivocally positive is this: this specific tea does not make the most satisfying matcha lattes. Adding milk will completely overpower the tea and prevent you from enjoying the unique flavor. However, when prepared in the traditional way, this tea is a delight to drink. If you love matcha, you will love this Asanoka matcha!

i like to make this matcha with 3g and 60ml of water. it gives a heavy chocolate flavor when hot and then when it cools down you taste more of the umami

Tastes great!

I've had a few misses, accidentally getting the really bitter matcha that's meant to be used for cooking or something. But this stuff is great!
