Nixing Daheng Duozhi Teapot Collection (Approx. 170-230 ml)

Dimensions: 5-6" wide x 3.5" tall

The Daheng Duozhi Collection celebrates one of the most beloved forms in traditional Chinese teaware. Originally inspired by the renowned Qing Dynasty master Shao Daheng (邵大亨), the Duozhi (掇只) form is admired for its harmonious proportions, rounded silhouette, and remarkable sense of balance. Every curve—from the domed lid to the gently swelling body and flowing spout—is designed to feel unified, creating a teapot that appears both elegant and effortless.

Rather than featuring carved decoration, this collection showcases variations of the classic Da Heng Duo Zhi form, allowing the graceful lines, balanced proportions, and natural beauty of the Nixing clay to become the focal point. Finished with precisely fitted lids and smooth, controlled pours, these teapots embody the timeless philosophy that true beauty comes from proportion, craftsmanship, and simplicity.

Handcrafted in Qinzhou, Guangxi Province, Nixing pottery (坭兴陶) is recognized as one of China's Four Great Pottery Traditions and has long been admired for its exceptional performance with Liu Bao, Shou Puerh, aged Raw Puerh, and other heicha. Many experienced tea drinkers appreciate Nixing clay for the way it refines these teas while allowing their natural character to remain front and center.

Nixing clay is especially prized for its excellent heat retention and gentle influence on tea. It helps soften bitterness, reduce astringency, enhance natural sweetness, and create a richer, silkier mouthfeel while preserving the tea's aroma and complexity. Over time, the unglazed interior gradually seasons as it absorbs trace aromatic compounds, making these teapots ideal for dedicating to a favorite Liu Bao or other dark tea.
