These rounded wood-fired gongfu teacups come from Jingdezhen, China, a city with a long tradition of making ceramics. The wider, bowl-shaped design feels different from a tall, narrow tasting cup. Its open rim gives you room to enjoy the tea's color and aroma while taking small, comfortable sips.

The natural wood-firing process creates variations in the surface, with warm earth tones, lighter cream-colored areas, and soft gray-brown speckling. No two firings look exactly alike.

Choose Your Cup

Sandwave (140 mL): A rounded teacup with a broad pale rim and sweeping cream-colored bands across warm sandy-brown and stone-gray tones. The interior is warm tan with small speckles and darker markings near part of the rim. The photos show this style. More teacups of a similar rounded size may be added as options later.

Leo's Story: My Discovery in Jingdezhen

I found this teacup during my trip to Jingdezhen in 2025. I have always enjoyed looking for wood-fired teaware in person because every piece has its own character. You can look at the same cup from different angles and discover a completely different pattern.

What caught my attention here was the wider, rounded shape and the way the cream-colored lines move across the warm earthy surface. Even the inside has its own markings. For me, this is why I enjoy finding teaware by hand instead of choosing it from a catalog.
