This is one of the rarest Jianshui teapot collections we have ever carried. These teapots are made from Jianshui clay, then finished with a newly developed wood-fired glazed technique created by only one artist in China.
Each teapot is glazed on the outside, allowing the wood firing and kiln atmosphere to create natural kiln-changed colors. The surface may show flowing blues, earthy browns, golden tones, soft greens, and deep smoky transitions. No two pieces come out the same, making every teapot truly one of a kind.
The inside is left as raw beige Jianshui clay, preserving the natural clay surface for brewing. This creates a beautiful contrast between the expressive glazed exterior and the calm, unglazed interior.
Jianshui beige clay (清水泥), a high-quality, iron-rich material prized for its ability to enhance tea flavor, smooth astringency, and add depth to oolongs, puerh, and black teas. The clay’s slight porosity allows the teapot to breathe, bringing out the full aroma of your tea, while its high iron content ensures excellent heat retention, keeping temperatures stable for precise and consistent brewing.
Each teapot is fully handmade, with a handmade ball filter inside for smooth pouring and practical daily use.
The shapes are not only beautiful but also functional, with comfortable handles, balanced bodies, and useful forms for different tea styles.
This collection is perfect for tea lovers who appreciate rare craftsmanship, natural kiln transformation, and teapots that feel both artistic and usable.
