2024 Nanling Village Sheng Puerh

The 2024 Nanling Village Sheng Puerh (南岭村) is a shapeshifting tea that smells very sweet like a jam but, when brewed, reveals an unexpected vegetal complexity with a refined floral sweetness of jasmine and wild flowers. This bright, golden-yellow tea has a clear and vibrant appearance, paired with a smooth mouthfeel and medium body that enhances the floral character without overwhelming the palate. The long-lasting floral aftertaste lingers at the back of the mouth, leaving a satisfying finish.

Nanling Village is located in the renowned Yunnan Province, a region celebrated for its rich tea culture and history. The village benefits from a subtropical climate, abundant rainfall, and fertile soil, all of which create ideal conditions for tea cultivation. After brewing this tea at a variety of temperatures and varying amount of tea leaves, the tea shines best when brewed Gongfu style in a 90ml gaiwan with 5 grams of tea leaves and with lower temperature water around 190–195°F (88–90°C).

Brewing Instructions (Gongfu Style): Rinse the leaves briefly before the first brew. Then steep the first infusion for 10 seconds. For subsequent infusions, steep for only 3 seconds. You can enjoy this tea for 18-22 infusions, with each brew offering a new layer of flavor and aroma.
