The Zhiqiu (知秋) gaiwan is a white jade porcelain gaiwan from Jingdezhen, China, with a gently flared rim, a rounded bowl, and a matching lid and saucer. Its clean white surface makes it easy to appreciate the color of your tea as it brews.

At approximately 185 ml, this gaiwan is well suited for gongfu-style brewing, whether you are preparing tea for yourself or sharing small cups with others. The traditional three-piece design lets you adjust the lid to pour tea while keeping leaves in the bowl.

A Larger Gaiwan That Still Feels Light

At 185 ml, this gaiwan holds nearly twice as much as many standard 100 ml gaiwans. That extra room makes a real difference when you're brewing for a larger group, since you can serve more cups from each infusion without giving up the control of gongfu brewing. What makes this one especially nice is how light it feels for its size. The refined Jingdezhen white jade porcelain keeps it comfortable to handle and pour, even when you're making tea for a table of friends.

A Note from Leo

For years, I've been looking for genuine Jingdezhen teaware I could bring into the shop. So many pieces I found were either made in other regions but sold as Jingdezhen, or simply too expensive to offer at a reasonable price.

I finally found well-made Jingdezhen porcelain that's affordable, too. What I love most is how thin yet durable it feels, and how comfortable it is to hold. Once you use a good Jingdezhen piece, you start to understand why this porcelain is so highly regarded. Personally, I find it hard to go back to ceramics from other regions.
