A classic white porcelain gaiwan from Jingdezhen, China, offered in two sizes for gongfu tea brewing. The Yanzhi (胭脂盖碗) has a softly rounded bowl, gently flared rim, matching lid, and small raised foot. Its bright white interior makes it easy to watch tea leaves unfurl and see the infusion's color.
Yanzhi Shape & White Porcelain
The Yanzhi gaiwan (胭脂盖碗) has a balanced silhouette with a comfortable rim for handling the lid and bowl during short, repeated infusions. Made of white porcelain and sourced from Jingdezhen, a long-established center of Chinese porcelain craftsmanship, it is a practical addition to a gongfu tea setup.
Choosing Your Size
Large — 110 ml: Approximately 9 cm (3.54 in) rim diameter and 7 cm (2.76 in) overall height.
Small — 100 ml: Approximately 8 cm (3.15 in) rim diameter and 6 cm (2.36 in) overall height.
Both versions are listed with a base diameter of approximately 2 cm in the supplier's size chart. Measurements and capacities are approximate.
What Tea Works Well?
White porcelain is a versatile, neutral brewing material, making this gaiwan useful for comparing many types of loose-leaf tea, including oolong, sheng puerh, black tea, and white tea. Use the lid to control the opening when pouring.

A Note from Leo
For years, I've been looking for genuine Jingdezhen teaware I could bring into the shop. So many pieces I found were either made in other regions but sold as Jingdezhen, or simply too expensive to offer at a reasonable price.
I finally found well-made Jingdezhen porcelain that's affordable, too. What I love most is how thin yet durable it feels, and how comfortable it is to hold. Once you use a good Jingdezhen piece, you start to understand why this porcelain is so highly regarded. Personally, I find it hard to go back to ceramics from other regions.
