The teapot is made from a rare and highly regarded Yixing clay variety. The surface shows a 梨皮 (lí pí, “pear-skin”) texture, meaning a slightly speckled and sandy appearance that collectors value for its natural character and tactile feel. This type of clay is considered collector’s grade material.
