Crimson Sunset – Handmade Japanese Kyoyaki Matcha Bowl

Crimson Sunset – Handmade Japanese Kyoyaki Matcha Bowl

Inspired by the warm glow of a sunset fading into the evening sky, Crimson Sunset features a stunning combination of rich reddish amber, deep chocolate brown, and glossy midnight-black tones. Its naturally flowing glaze creates beautiful layers of color, while delicate golden speckles inside the bowl resemble tiny stars scattered across a dark night sky.

Handcrafted in Japan using traditional Kyoyaki (Kyoto ware) techniques, this matcha bowl features a gently rounded shape, a comfortable wide opening, and a smooth, glossy finish. The natural unglazed foot, complete with an artisan’s impressed seal, adds an authentic handmade touch.

Why Choose Kyoyaki?

Kyoyaki is one of Japan’s most treasured ceramic traditions, originating in Kyoto and flourishing during the 17th century. Deeply connected to the Japanese tea ceremony, Kyoyaki is celebrated for its refined craftsmanship, artistic glazing techniques, and creative expression.

Unlike mass-produced ceramics, handmade Kyoyaki bowls celebrate individuality, with subtle variations in glaze, color, and texture that make each piece special.

The wide opening provides comfortable space for whisking matcha into a smooth, delicate foam, while the dark interior beautifully highlights the vibrant green color of freshly prepared matcha.
