This Golden Tips Yingde Black Tea, also known as Jin Hao Yingde Hong Cha (金毫英德红茶), from Yingde City in Guangdong Province, China, and is an ideal choice for anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying daily black tea.
This beautiful black tea is made from fine leaf buds covered in golden buds and produces a vibrant, bright red infusion. The tea opens with a rich, sweet aroma with floral notes, often reminiscent of honey and ripe persimmon, and a nutty character of graham cookies. The brew offers a smooth, flavorful sip with a natural brown sugar-like sweetness and a lingering, pleasant baked goods aftertaste. Additionally, the flavor profile evokes the sensation of honey-coated tapioca balls, much like those found in milk tea, adding a unique and delightful twist to the experience.
In general, black tea tends to be dry and astringent compared to other teas due to all the tannins, but this black tea, while still having a big body and bold flavors, is not dry at all and has a silky texture that coats the tongue and slips down the throat without leaving a dry, itchy sensation.
Crafted from tender buds and young leaves, this tea is carefully made during the prime spring harvest. Many of the leaves are coated in fine golden fuzz, giving it a striking appearance and enhancing its rich, layered flavor.
To Brew Gongfu Style: Measure put 5 grams of tea leaves and place in a 90ml gaiwan. Using 204 degree water, give the tea a quick rinse and use that rinse to rinse your tea cup. For the first infusion, steep the tea for 10-15 seconds. For following infusions, only steep for 3-5 seconds. Once you have brewed 4 infusions, start steeping for 3 seconds longer that the previous brews in order to enjoy up to 7-9 brews.
Golden Tips Yingde Black Tea is a crowd-pleasing black tea that gives you lots of flavor without compromising on pleasant mouthfeel and texture. It’s a reflection of the region’s unique environment and craftsmanship, offering a truly memorable tea experience with every sip.
