Zhuni Chaozhou Jun De Handcrafted Teapot – 90ml

Dimensions: 5" wide x 2.75" tall

Discover the artistry and tradition of Chaozhou tea culture with this handcrafted Zhuni teapot, made from Zhuni clay, a high-iron, fine red clay sourced from Chaozhou, Guangdong Province. Zhuni clay is celebrated for its smooth texture, excellent heat retention, and ability to develop a rich patina over time, subtly enhancing the flavor and aroma of teas like oolong, Phoenix Dancong, Wuyi Yancha, and puerh.

The Jun De teapot shape, named after Qing Dynasty ceramist Zhang Jun De, is a refined evolution of the classic pear-shaped teapot that distinguishes itself with a flat lid, setting it apart from other teapot designs. This teapot features this Jun De shape, characterized by a pear-shaped body with a flared belly that rises to a high neck. The round, slightly narrow handle highlights the fullness of the body, while the goose-neck-like spout with two gentle bends delivers seamless, controlled, and smooth pours. Its full-bellied design allows tea leaves to expand fully, while the compact form retains heat efficiently, promoting consistent flavor development across multiple infusions.

The Jun De shape is also symbolic: The name "Jun De" translates to "obedience and virtue," reflecting the balance, harmony, and refinement that this teapot embodies.

Hand-pulled by skilled artisans, each teapot is unique, with subtle variations in texture and finish that highlight meticulous craftsmanship. Whether enjoying a quiet Gongfu tea session or sharing tea with friends, its proportions and elegant silhouette make it both a functional brewing vessel and a collectible work of art, honoring centuries of Chaozhou teaware tradition.
