This Huaxiang Non-Smoked Lapsang Souchong (正山小種) Black Tea offers an enticing journey through layers of complex, evolving flavors that will keep you reaching for another sip. Its silky mouthfeel rests gently in the sides of your mouth, slipping easily down the throat and warming the chest, while filling your senses with a delicate floral aroma of orange blossom and osmanthus.

The experience begins with a vibrant citrus notes of orange zest, quickly transforming into a soft, white peach sweetness, grounded by a warm, brown sugar richness. A lingering floral note delicately wraps the finish, filling your mouth and nose, making each sip equally satisfying and addictive.

Huaxiang Lapsang Souchong is a unique expression of the classic Chinese Lapsang Souchong from the Wuyi Mountains in Fujian Province. Unlike the traditional smoked variety popularized in Western markets and known for its bold pine aroma, Huaxiang Lapsang Souchong ommits the smoking process and offers a milder, more aromatic profile centered on floral and fruity notes. This tea embodies a refined style favored in China, where lighter, more fragrant teas are celebrated, providing a refreshing alternative to the traditional smoky Lapsang Souchong.

For this tea we reccommend brewing it Gongfu style to be able to enjoy this fragrant tea up to 7 different infusions.

Gongfu Brewing Method: Place 5 grams of tea leaves in a 90ml gaiwan. For a gentle rinse, fill the gaiwan halfway with water at about 190°F (88°C) then quickly discard. Increase the water temperature to 200°F (93°C)for brewing, fill the gaiwan fully, and steep for 20 seconds for the first infusion. The tea should yield a glowing amber liquor. Brew this way for up to 5 infusions. After the 5th infusion, steep for 3-5 seconds longer than the previous infusion and enjoy up to 2 more infusions.

This Huaxiang Non-Smoked Lapsang Souchong is smooth and naturally sweet, with minimal astringency, making it an inviting choice for those who appreciate complex, aromatic black teas.
