Jingdezhen "Moonlit Lavender" Butter Jade Gongfu Teacup (Approx. 35 ml)
This teacup comes from Jingdezhen, a city that’s been at the center of China’s porcelain craftsmanship for over a thousand years. Known as the “Porcelain Capital” since the Song dynasty, Jingdezhen earned its status as the official kiln site for the imperial court and has set the standard for Chinese ceramics ever since.
Made from ultra-pure local kaolin clay, this porcelain is thin, strong, and impressively translucent. You can see the quality for yourself—when lit from behind, the cup glows with a consistent and even transparency, a clear indicator of skillful clay work and precise high-temperature firing. We selected this cup directly from artisans in Jingdezhen, ensuring the quality meets the level we expect in both form and finish.
This elegant teacup is finished with a delicate violet glaze that softly glows under the light. Its translucent lavender tone evokes the calm beauty of moonlight resting on mist. The gently flared rim and balanced form allow the aroma of tea to open gracefully, making every sip feel quiet and refined. A poetic piece that brings together modern elegance and the timeless porcelain artistry of Jingdezhen.
As a gongfu teacup, it holds a small amount of tea, just enough for one or two sips. This lets you enjoy the tea at the ideal temperature without rushing or waiting. It’s the perfect size to fully appreciate the tea’s aroma, clarity, and taste across multiple infusions—one of the key ideas behind gongfu-style brewing.
With its clean, jade-like porcelain body and elegant petal shape, the teacup is a practical and beautiful addition to any tea session. It highlights the color of your tea, feels comfortable in the hand, and offers that unmistakable Jingdezhen level of refinement.
