Li-Shan, or Pear Mountain, is a part of Taiwan's Yu-Shan or Jade Mountain range. This area is known for its pears, apples, and peaches, which require a cool temperature all year and high humidity. Li-Shan has the ideal climate required to create one of Taiwan's finest high mountain oolongs because it sits at 2200 meters above sea level in Taichung County--the county encircled by lush forests that remove impurities from the air! There is no pollution since it sits directly against beautiful greenery that cleanses all uncleanliness away at a height of 2200 meters.
The growth period is lengthy due to the long-term cloud and mist, cold temperature and snow in the winter, as well as thick leaf flesh, which contributes to its rich flavor, sweet taste, fruity taste, honey-green and yellow tea color.
