What makes Dewdrop puerh so appealing to us?

Typically, you'd seek out a puerh that has been aged for a minimum of 7 years. This batch was harvested in 2011, giving it solid years of aging. Dewdrop is an ideal choice for those venturing into Sheng Puerh for the first time. Its light, fruity, and floral notes make it approachable and easy to drink. But don't be fooled by its gentle taste - this puerh has depth and complexity that will keep you coming back for more.

For seasoned puerh enthusiasts, this one's a gem! It offers a silky, fruity profile with no metallic hints. The taste profile boasts juicy richness, a velvety texture, and exceptional smoothness. Leo's top choice for raw puerh. The first infusion of this tea has an aroma of fresh peach; the flavor, though a bit earthy, carries sweet lingering notes of young peach and the juiciness of biting into a grapefruit.

There's just a tiny bit of nectarine feel with natural tropical fruit sweetness. The initial earthy notes transition smoothly to a thick body with a tropical fruit finish. Dewdrop delivers a delicious experience with a slightly floral aftertaste that leaves you refreshed.

This puerh only gets better with each infusion. By the fifth or sixth infusions, this tea gets sweeter and less earthy. So, make sure to reinfuse the tea until later infusions. You can easily get up to 20 infusions.

Gongfu Brewing Instructions:

Use about 5g of this tea in 100ml gaiwan with boiling spring water. Rinse the tea quickly before making your first infusion. Use 195ºF and steep the tea within 5-10  seconds on your first infusion. Add an additional 5 seconds on the second infusion. Keep steeping the tea longer as you go to later infusions. You should be able to get at least 20 infusions.

1st brick tea

I will start by saying i am more of an aged white tea drinker.

I've had tea cakes before and "chocolate bar" tea. I have not had a bricked tea before. The smell was unique... very unique.
At first whiff I got a tiny fish smell. But after more examination I came to find out it was the exterior of the packaging.

The tea was very "sharp" at high temps. I found this tea to be the most flavorful and juciy around 185f in a gaiwan. And quick steeps

I would assume alot of the sharpness comes from the mass amount of stems in it, which is beneficial to the aging process to allow some air though the brick. But to "fix" the sharpness I plucked out the non leafed stems.

Once I dialed ot into my liking I could see drinking this some more. but it isn't something I would go out of my way for like some other teas I've tasted.

I even brought this to my local tea house to get other opinions. And we all agree it is drinkable but nothing mind blowing.
Still a great tea. Might just be my preference for white tea over puer.

But like they say this might just be your cuppa tea

(I've included some close ups of the tea to show the stems )
