A very famous oolong for a reason. This Master Wang Gao Zhong Shui Xian Oolong is a complex and earthy oolong that awakens all your senses.
With a woody and nutty roasted profile, the tea invites you in with its fragrant aroma. This same roasted woodiness balanced by the right amount of bite from the mineral taste and the subtle orchid floral notes in the background, spreads across every corner of your mouth. The tea initially feels smooth both in the mouth and down the throat. At the end, it dries out at the front of the mouth but continues to feel smooth in the throat. The pleasant toasted aroma lingers for a long time afterwards, keeping you in a warm and cozy state for a while before you go back for more. As you brew more infusions the sweetness and richness of the tea intensifies up to the first 6-7 infusions.
Master Wang Gao Zhong Shui Xian Oolong is a famous cultivar of Shui Xian Oolong, originating from the Wuyi Mountains in Fujian, China. Shui Xian (水仙) translates to "Narcissus" or "Water Fairy," but despite the name, it has no connection to the flower. Shui Xian is highly regarded within the Wuyi rock tea (岩茶) category, known for its distinctive mineral taste, resulting from the tea being grown in rocky terrain.
The tea leaves are thick and broad, with a dark, glossy appearance. When brewed, the tea releases a beautiful golden orange color.
By brewing this tea with 5 grams of tea leaves Gongfu style, you can achieve this signature taste and mouthfeel. Give this tea a quick rinse with 205 degrees F (96 degrees C) water in a 90 ml Gaiwan. With the same temperature water, steep the tea for only 5 seconds. All subsequent infusions should only be steeped for 1 second. This tea can be brewed for multiple infusions and enjoyed for a long tea session.

If you're looking to explore this specific variety, expect a tea with a full-bodied flavor and a smooth, lingering finish that reflects the heritage of the Wuyi region's traditional tea craftsmanship.
