A tea pet is an optional accessory that can make your tea party much more fun, especially in 2024, the dragon year. When you need to rinse your tea, instead of dumping the water away, you can pour it over the tea pet instead. This is supposed to be a good luck thing to do during the tea ceremony.
Over time, feeding the tea pet will produce nice tea smells and distinctive colors. When you hit this tea pet with hot water, the color of the tea pet changes as well, adding to the entire tea experience. Tea pets are usually made of clay and glazed over. You can find all sorts of different designs and colors. Some people even have more than one tea pet! It is considered good luck if you take care of your tea pet and it "gives life".
