Part 1 of this Japan tea tasting will include:
Miyazaki Haruto 34 Shincha: Exceptional green tea from Miyazaki, Japan. This asamushi-style tea is a result of crossbreeding "Sakimidori" and "Saemidori" parent plants, blending early harvest, umami flavor, vigor, striking color, and cold resistance.
Kagoshima Kirari Shincha: This tea blends 3 incredible cultivars - Asatsuyu, Asanoka, and Kirari - for a medley of flavors. From gentle sweetness to bold richness and vibrant citrusy notes, each sip takes you on a magical journey through nature's embrace.
Oita Tamaryokucha: Stands out with its round and curled leaves, achieved through a curling method similar to Chinese tea processing. Unlike other Japanese teas, Tamaryokucha's unique appearance is a result of pan-firing or tumbling, resembling certain Chinese green teas too.
Shizuoka Kuki Houjicha: This is the closest I've found to what I consider the perfect houjicha. It's a blend of 90% stems and 10% leaves. The stems provide a delightful sweetness and lower caffeine content, while the leaves add texture, complexity, and a lingering aftertaste
Kumamoto Black Tea: Grown in Kumamoto's volcanic soil, this Japanese black tea offers a surprising flavor profile that may just make it a worthy addition to your collection. It delights the senses with a sweet aroma and a smooth, velvety texture, while treating your taste buds to hints of warm honey and subtle floral notes. A truly exquisite tea experience.
