It's like biting into kale! This tea is quite different from any of our other Sencha. Most sencha are more seaweed-like; this one is more vegetal than the savory. There is little or no astringency at all. The flavor is very deep and full-bodied. When first sipping this tea, you will notice a hint of floral notes followed by a strong vegetal flavor. The after-taste lingers for a while and then finishes with a pleasantly sweet and creamy aroma.
This particular cultivar was grown by Kawashima-san in Shizuoka, with an average elevation of 150-200 meters. We have a very limited stock of this tea. So, get this tea when you can before it's gone for good.
